Did anyone else catch @kairyssdal.bsky.social's Marketplace report last night with the guys who blithely chuckled as they described how same/similar financial instruments that destroyed US lives by creating the housing crisis are now being used to finance data centers? Fraud pays for data predation.

Who should be a US citizen? People who want to come here and live a good life. Really, that takes in nearly all immigrants. Are there exploitative jerks who want to come here and wreak havoc? Well, yes, somehow Murdoch and Musk slipped through. So that system needs work. But most are solid humans.

For those who enjoy analogies: Building data centers is equivalent to setting up a fence-free farm for leopards who eat people, faces and all. Then paying for power and water, and, instead of using them, sending the leopard breeders all of our power and water so the predators can eat us faster.
