Damn...it turns out "may you live in interesting times" actually IS a curse.

You can't spell revolution without evolution.

I joined Twitter 16 years ago, but (literally) never posted anything. I got enough enjoyment reading everyone else's posts.

I joined BlueSky a few months ago, planning to post but avoid politics (who needs the extra stress?)

I cannot in good conscience stay silent any longer.

This is the way.
According to a recent article in the NYT (link in alt txt) everyone hates ‘Friend,’ the new A.I. necklace.

Anyone familiar with Dr. Theophilus, the A.I. necklace worn by Twiki in the 1979-80 TV series 'Buck Rogers,' could have seen this coming from a mile away.

Do you know that scene in the movies where the fleeing bank robbers throw cash out of their vehicle to slow down their pursuers?

My hypothesis is that 'Trump accounts' for newborns will be a net negative for the average person.

I'm still developing a model to explain how, but the simple fact that they are "promoted by Trump and CEOs" tells me more than enough to justify the effort.

Agree or disagree? Why?
Trump, CEOs promote savings plans for newborns
The Trump accounts are part of the major budget bill containing much of President Donald Trump's agenda, which House Republicans passed last month.

There is a remote chance that SCOTUS will be overturned & Trump's immunity will have the same value as his lies. I just hope he lives long enough to see his assets confiscated & at least a year in Super Max. Hopefully, in the same building as his family & entire cabinet.

We’re way beyond “could” face a reckoning and solidly in the “should” and “must” categories. This group of supposed originalists have defiled the constitution, starting with overturning Roe and granting presidential immunity. SCOTUS reform is necessary if we want to keep our democracy.

I suppose all Juan Orlando Hernández had to do was promise to buy a Trump Gold Card (trumpcard.gov) for $1M...and hand Trump some multiple of that under the table...to secure U.S. residency after his pardon.

The GOP could impeach and convict Trump to stop this circus. If they don't, they own it.

Biden and Garland’s biggest mistake was failing to hold those responsible for all the crimes and corruption we saw from 2015 to 2021 accountable.

The next Democratic President can’t repeat this. We need a special counsel appointed on day 1 — and tribunals setup to judge war criminals.
