I'm a particular fan of 2001 myself.
The hope and positivity on display at #NoKings was infectious. We danced in the rain.
The fact that Alice Munro managed to write some of the best fiction of all time while raising three children is legendary.

I just got back from the grocery store, and I'm childfree, and I'm exhausted.

All that we really have is our human history.

Until the stars burn out.
"Good morning. A lazy day during which we do absolutely nothing sounds heavenly, but how much unstructured time can we comfortably abide?"

On the day of the No Kings protest, likely one of the biggest, this was what the New York Times decided to write about for their morning briefing.

Fuck the NYT
Despite the fact that the majority of the largest protests in American history have been under the Trump regime, and therefore nothing good has come of them, I just cant in good conscience say that I stood around and did nothing while a dictator rose to power.
It is no longer a partisan measure to protest at the No Kings rally. It is now a democratic, egalitarian imperative.

80 percent of ACA tax credits go to people living in states Trump won.

As @aoc.bsky.social says, Republicans think this shutdown is about punishing Democrats. But in reality, it hurts everybody.

Watch.
Im pretty tired of bullies getting away with things.

More than half of ALL government shut down days in the history of America have come under just one president.

Simply put, the man is a terrible leader.
"What do we want?"
"Right now!"
"When do we want it?"
"Change!"

A major protest during a government shut down seems likely. We have no choice. If we want to protect the civil liberties and welfare of the American people, we must do so with a crowd.
Say what we want about social media, it helps us to see injustice performed on a near daily basis.

Imagine Trump's presidency in 2002.

BREAKING: Our client Mario Guevara, an Emmy-winning journalist detained by ICE in retaliation for livestreaming law enforcement activity, will be deported tomorrow to El Salvador.

Mario and his family are being punished for his reporting. This cruelty is meant to stifle our free press.

Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.
