Love when I run into folks at conferences and the first thing they say is, “Oh, where is your cute little one?! I remember at the last conference we were at you had your little one with you!”

Yes, my toddler is my conference sidekick and probably has a more prominent reputation than I do 😂

Just a reminder that Amazon workers are striking tomorrow through Monday, and that none of the “deals” are good enough to justify crossing the picket line.

400+ years after the "First Thanksgiving" most Americans have no idea that the Wampanoag people are still here. My tribe, the Aquinnah Wampanoag, is on Martha's Vineyard and we're still fighting for our land and rights. We’re also doing some cool stuff. 🧵👇 if you’d like to learn more & support us

Oh man…read The Probability of Everything w/ Dr. Nicole Joseph (sadly not on bsky yet 😭) for a project we are working on re: Black girl STEM representation in children’s lit…if this new book is anywhere near as powerful as that one?! I better set aside uninterrupted hours to read it in one sitting!
So many of us were captivated by Sarah’s THE PROBABILITY OF EVERYTHING. I’m happy to report that her new book THE SHAPE OF LOST THINGS is incredible. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. 🤯
I can’t wait for you to meet Skye and to watch her try to put her life back together.

If you are in a teaching context that is hostile towards terms like DEI, diversity, etc. we can change our language.

Linguistic diversity? No, linguistic accuracy.

It's more accurate to portray diversity as variety, accuracy, authenticity.

Inclusion of this group at #NCTE24 is dangerous for Palestinian presenters and a lot of Black presenters and attendees whose valid criticisms of Israel are labeled hateful.

The National Council for Teachers of English (NCTE) should not platform hateful, anti-Palestinian organizations that target educators!
Note: This petition is being put together by teachers and authors who are participating at the 2024 NCTE convention in Boston. We have tried unsuccessfully to persuade NCTE to revoke their platforming...
