I'm so full of sadness and regret - depths of which I still haven't fully plumbed. But I'll never be sorry I did what I did to try to elect Kamala Harris, and I'll never regret creating this:

OMG!! First and foremost, "Human" and "Fall of Civilizations".
YouTube Channels include: UC Davis Lectures, Primitive Technology, History of Humankind, Fading Lore, Time Team, Stephan Milo, Timeless, Mini Minuteman... so many! (Just be careful - YouTube tries to drag you into pseudo-archaeology)

They've got their ears plugged.

The protestors at Kamala’s book tour should have spent $30 on her book vs $300 to disrupt her. They would have learned something instead of being anti black chaos agents hellbent on annoying her and her audience.

Okay, enough engaging with the real world for today - it's turning me dark again.
Back to my archaeology documentaries.

Nope. My daughter knits. I've nearly fainted at the cost of yarns.

Not to mention, it's practically impossible anymore to actually buy fabric. No more the old fabric stores, where you could feel the fabric, hold it up to your complexion.
Long gone are those giant drawers full of patterns.
They've gone the way of the drive-in movie.
God, I feel like a dinosaur 😂

I have this things where I have to actually own a copy of every book I've ever read (yes, it's a problem).
But after a flood destroyed my entire library and ripped my heart out, I swore never again. That's when I reluctantly went fully digital.

They want to win, at all costs.
They want to be in control. Forever.
And they will do anything to achieve it.

Just so you know the score.

We are in a post-constitutional world in which all of the traditionally held "American values" are dead, their hollow carcasses dragged out like idols to awe the populace.
They don't want a democracy or a republic or any of the things the rest of us want.

wealthy, sit squarely atop.
That accountability and consequences are illusions.
That if they get a little leverage here, a little there, they can build their power until leverage becomes ever easier to achieve - and with it, greater power.

or wholely invented.
That words like "Constitution", "Patriot", "treason", even "American" are emotional buttons to be perverted.
That there is a strict hierarchy that determines the value of any of our lives. One in which they - white, male, nominally Christian, and most importantly,

Trump showed them that they don't have to believe in anything.
That they don't have to play by rules - that there *are* no rules.
That they can lie - openly and obviously - and be believed by those who choose to be misled.
That there are no facts that can't be distorted, manipulated,

I feel that. That's why I like digital copies that I can *actually* download - so I can make and store copies. Like I'm suddenly my mother, who's still suspicious of audiobooks.
dunhillpage.bsky.social
I *did* buy it! And I don't usually do that either.
Went to see it with my bestie and I'll never forget what we call "the scene" - you know the one.
We're there, side by side, gripping each other, eyes tearing. Shaking.
It was so powerful and magical. And I hate horror movies. It was brilliant.

I'm so tired of stupid people blaming the wrong people.
Saw someone yelling at Jeffries that Dems should put a resolution on the floor to force the swearing in of Adralita Grijalva.

Rather than delete the post or engage any further, she blocked me when I replied thus: 🤷🏻‍♀️

So now they know how to avoid being deployed to other states to stand around and trample peaceful American's rights -- load up on the nachos and chicken wings, boys!

Ultimately, the death of US manufacturing is about this attitude. It's easy to say "buy american or stfu" because virtue signaling is free. But it's hard to actually sustain a business because many Americans simply don't want to pay what it costs to produce things ethically in this country
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

The. House. Is. Not. In. Session.
There can be no action or fucking "resolution".
Go yell at Republican Congresspeople who did this.

You've gone and made me jealous

They'll certainly whine about how she treated them - but they know that pulling that shit at a trump appearance would get them beaten up and then charged with felonies. They know damn well who defends their right to speak freakin performative cowards.

I was beginning to feel like the only person left in America who finds SNL unfunny and often cringe. I haven't watched it since . . . Tina Fey and Dana Carvey?
If there's anything good, that's what YouTube clips are for.

I was young at the time, and an activist. I worried that Act Up was at times too extreme, too alienating. But when you bury enough of your 20-something friends, "extreme" is the only way to respond.
Keep those visuals coming, Portland. And all of us - stay non-violent, but be creative and extreme.

This week in 1988: 1,000+ ACT UP demonstrators shut down the FDA headquarters, demanding (and eventually winning) action on developing HIV/AIDS treatments. ACT UP's militant and creative actions always included powerful visual artwork, and paved the way for movements in the decades to come.
A photograph from the 1988 ACT UP demonstration outside the FDA. Many people are participating in a die-in on the front steps, holding mock tombstones with messages like "RIP - killed by the FDA" and "Dead from lack of drugs." A line of police officers (some with classic 80s mustaches) wearing riot helmets stands between them and the building; one cop wearing white gloves is walking through the demonstrators. Affixed to the 2nd story windows of the building is a series of posters and a large blank banner reading Silence = Death.

They wanted the House.
They wanted the Senate.
They wanted the White House.
They got it. All of it.
It's all theirs.
And it's shut down.

They can lie
They can troll
They can "own the libs"

But. They. Cannot. Govern.

This is all you need to hold in mind when you're looking to assign blame.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.
