The reason Trump can destroy America's civil liberties with impunity, is because Americans chose to keep silent when horrific crimes were being committed by their country abroad. There is a direct straight line from the genocide in Palestine to the ICE abductions in the US.

A UA student was reportedly detained by the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement early Tuesday morning. Alireza Doroudi, a doctoral student from Iran studying mechanical engineering, was reportedly arrested by ICE officers at around 5 a.m. at his home on Tuesday. According to a message sent in a group chat that included Iranian students Tuesday, Doroudi entered the U.S. on an F-1 student visa issued by the U.S. Embassy in Oman in January 2023, after clearing all immigration checks. The message said Dourodi had his visa revoked six months after his arrival in the U.S. “After receiving the revocation notice, Alireza immediately contacted ISSS [International Student and Scholar Services] at the University of Alabama,” the message said. “ISSS replied with confidence, stating that his case was not unusual or problematic and that he could remain in the U.S. legally as long as he maintained his student status.”

When he explained this result to Samuel Eilenberg, who had missed the lecture, Eilenberg recognized the calculation as the homology of the 3-sphere complement of the p-adic solenoid, a space formed as the infinite intersection of a sequence of solid tori, each wound around p times inside the preceding torus. In teasing apart this connection, the pair of them discovered what is now known as the universal coefficient theorem in algebraic topology, which relates the homology H∗ and cohomology groups H ∗ associated to a space X via a group extension [ML05]: (1.0.1) 0 → Ext(Hn−1(X),G) → H n (X,G) → Hom(Hn(X),G) → 0 . To obtain a more general form of the universal coefficient theorem, Eilenberg and Mac Lane needed to show that certain isomorphisms of abelian groups expressed by this group extension extend to spaces constructed via direct or inverse limits. And indeed this is the case, precisely because the homomorphisms in the diagram (1.0.1) are natural with respect to continuous maps between topological spaces.

The "soul" of the university was given up long ago when they let NYPD in to arrest non violent students protesting the American-Israeli genocide in Gaza. The fact that this is still not obvious to so many Americans is symptomatic of where the country is today.

If there is any decisive nail in the coffin of the assertion that Musk is a savant/genius, it should be this. Not having radar/lidar on a self-driving car for detecting obstacles is essentially telling the drivers to say "Hail Mary" and hope everything works out.

Sadly most engineers expected this to eventually be a problem when they ditched lidar/radar for Teslas. Cost isn’t everything, even Kia uses radar to assist with crash prevention.

This is emblematic of most of the tech bros. They assume because they didn’t come up with it, it’s terrible.
