Ah yes, the important issues of the day.
Now that the mayoral election is over, New Yorkers can turn their attention back to asking if there actually are tiny shrimp in NYC tap water and if that’s why the bagels are so good
"Zohran Mamdani was decisively elected mayor of New York City. So why does it feel like there was a Cuomo victory?"
I'm staying away from "X" forever, but it is tempting to go back to drink their sweet, sweet tears.
I see Twitter is handling the election results well.
I would argue that the legend of Count Chocula and his marshmallows has value, and may be more important to society than the historical facts.
The actors have aged though. So should they recast the main characters? Go with different main characters entirely? Or should they pick up 30 years later "in universe" and explain everything that has happened since the end of S1? 😀
It's when you invite the Brady Bunch over to have lunch with you. Right?
Fair, but how many of the kind of people we're talking about get their news from reporters?

These days a significant number of them get their news from Facebook, Tik Tok, other social media, and influencers. And the algorithms on those sites tend to favor right wing points of view.
On top of that, people have a tendency to remember "the good things" and not "the bad things." So their memories tended not to include COVID, etc, but did include the lower prices and relatively good economy of 2019.
During Trump 1, he did many horrible things, but also still had people on staff who actively stopped him from doing some of the truly bonkers shit. So, to someone who only barely pays attention to the news, in 2024, their thinking was "oh, Trump wasn't as bad as everyone said he'd be." (2)
My first instinct is to say this. But I think we underestimate just how much people 1) pay attention to things and 2) remember what actually happened years ago. (1)
My left foot used an insecure password so his e-mail got hacked.
Most of these people probably own multiple homes. Unfortunately, I suspect that "leave town" often means "switch my ID and voter registration from Manhattan to Westchester County and change absolutely nothing else about how I live my life."
Now that we've swept VA, NJ, and NYC, when can I expect the hand-wringing editorials calling for Republican compromise?
This was such a fun series. Maybe it's time for another playthrough. Playing on a vintage PC would be best, but I'm sure the GOG versions will do in a pinch.
Man, these screenshots take me back to playing Space Quest 1 with my Dad when I was no older than 6 or 7. We bought our copy of SQ1 at a computer fair - quite possibly the first one Dad ever took me to.
Today on Quest Quest we're beginning Space Quest Month celebrating 30 years of the Virtual Broomcloset, @decafjedi.com's great fansite. We're talking about the original game. Also, The Big Bopper. Listen here or where ever: zencastr.com/z/pP_WMFZZ

this is the most successful a CIA officer has been at toppling a government in years.
Too bad the Wraith was so quickly overshadowed by the Excalibur.
I think I actually owned a copy of this.
"It was hell, because I'm more of a pickles and mayo guy."
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

"I could smell the onions and mustard."
I've never played Power Poker, but it should have included the option of playing against the Wing Commander II squadmates.
That's why I just stick to glasses.

I am kind of enjoying how the Cuomo vote began by claiming very noisily that he was "the only one who could stand up to Trump" and now, well
"I'll still vacation in New York three, maybe four times a year. But I won't be as happy about it."
