at last, my years of being a social media real estate speculator paid off and I have a bunch of new follows. Here's an introduction of all the stuff I do, apologies to everyone who already knows me.

I'm the opposite of the Cubs in that I save all my work till the end of the day instead of frontloading my only runs and then nothing

Currently bingeing @decafjedi.com and @bvigeant.bsky.social's Quest Quest podcast at work (because I should have started listening to it a long time ago, tbh) and nodding sensibly at their Very Correct Opinions. Well, most of them.

Oh also I'm at 16 hours and probably at about the same spot give or take some stuff.

I think it still feels good, and I'm still adjusting to Mel's generally different playstyle (which clashes with my own default). The boon are... eh. But I haven't really started to critically engage with those, just randomly pick em.

I also haven't played H1 since 2021, so that helps.
bvigeant.bsky.social
I haven't given the game as much intense thought, mainly because the systems have just slid off my brain, but I'm having a fun time playing it. The problem is that I don't feel as strong a tug to return to it, or to keep doing runs which H1 had in spades.
bvigeant.bsky.social
I'd argue that H1 has the best of a long early access- it has good game feel which seems like it was entirely out of correctly tuning it by listening correctly to feedback (e.g. not listening to dumb ideas).

This has a bit more sweaty for the fans stuff.
bvigeant.bsky.social
... it might be a case of not filtering EA feedback correctly and listening more to hardcore fans that will dig through all that stuff.

I'm enjoying it ok, but it does feel like a 4 star game to the original's 5. Essentially all the ~stuff~ I just have stopped bothering focusing intently, and every now and again I check in on it. But it is silly. There's definitely so so much more everything and I think...

There has been a lot of ICE activity in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago today. There has also been a lot of ICE watch and rapid response activity. We love our community, and we are showing up for each other.

Tonight at 8 PM Central, more PHANTASMAGORIA. In the 90s it was perfectly normal for a married couple of a magazine photographer and a one book novelist to purchase a sprawling Groverhaus style mansion. Join us on a real estate centric memory lane that's also an FMV horror. www.twitch.tv/ps_garak
An absurdly red and silly bedroom with a small staircase down and a large imposing portrait of a guy dressed like a dracula A 3D rendered solarium. A woman reaches to touch a spooky blob floating in the air over a crib. A 3D rendered cute new england village.

Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race

Federal Agents Storm South Shore Building, Detaining Families and Children
Families were woken by flashbangs and helicopters as hundreds of federal agents raided their homes. Days later, neighbors are still searching for the missing.
