Right-wing influencers made up that Democrats celebrated Charlie Kirk’s murder, and tried an up-is-down lie that they’d never celebrate political violence, then Trump smashed though that Kool Aid Man style—as per his wont—so the influencers are now pretending that’s unusual and that they dislike it.

Hegseth murdered more people today but still refuses to release the second strike video from September.

The city has been completely left without electricity, hot water, and heating for over one million people, including all critical infrastructure.

"The jury verdict from 10 years ago contains a scrivener's error insofar as it states that the defendant was not guilty. We are changing that, nunc pro tunc, to guilty."

Yeah, no.
It is not! A “scrivener’s error” is for things like fixing typos or very minor non-material errors, not retroactively adding a deportation order that doesn’t current exist!
Is "correcting" a previous order like this a real thing?

"The administration genuinely seems to believe it can pull back from the world stage yet somehow still tell the rest of the world what to do. And it has a very firm idea of what it wants Europe to do, which is 'be as racist and xenophobic as Donald Trump.'" — @snipy.bsky.social

Can't agree with this more. Just leave universities alone. The same goes, with a more restricted scope, for high schools.
If we accede to the demand that political appointees can decide what is worthwhile to study and what isn't, we've lost universities as institutions of knowledge, innovation, and progress. This is why academic freedom and tenure are so important.
This -- a model bill to effectively decimate non-STEM research by requiring 3-3 teaching loads outside of "STEM or Americanism and western civilization" -- seems...extremely bad but also quite plausible.

Funny to think how much or system depends on judges who have the basic integrity to not 1) exercise jdx while on appeal, 2) to change a different judge's order, 3) and backdate it 6 years, 4) to try to deport someone at 8 am before they have the chance to challenge it.
Judge Xinis ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s release in part bc ICE could not produce a final “order of removal” to deport him. So last night, they went out and got an immigration judge to issue one.

Now, Abrego is urging Xinis to block his redetention. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
