Yes, and I hope that as the US empire collapses & is hopefully held accountable, that something new is built at the same time to support the people living there, to reduce the devastation experienced.
Today’s events have me convinced that the total abolition of the United States of America as a state is a prerequisite to world stability and peace.

To address violence we must address the root causes.
Conflicting info about whether Pretti was murdered by ICE or CBP makes it clear that ICE is not single "rogue agency"

ICE, CBP and ALL policing & borders must be abolished. This isn't just one agency; its an entire infrastructure of carceral control, illegalization & criminalization, and fascism.

Canada needs a new leader willing to break the elite consensus that unconditional support for Israel is the only acceptable option.

That’s why I’m running to lead the NDP.

1/ As the people of Minneapolis rise up against ICE, it's painful and shameful that Canadian companies are selling armoured vehicles to Trump's masked militia and providing tech support to the dept of Homeland Security.

When Elon Musk rolled back Grok safeguards, he enabled millions of people to be victimized. Shamefully, governments did little to protect their citizens.

The X deepfake scandal shows why we need far stricter social media regulation as a stepping stone to new platforms — not just higher age limits.
X shows why stricter tech regulation is necessary
We need comprehensive rules on social media far more than age limits

The NDP must be a political home for every worker – white collar, blue collar, or no collar.

That means defending workers’ rights that have been under attack for decades while confronting new threats posed by app-based gig work, AI, and precarious jobs.

The danger is not that neoliberalism is ending, but that it is being replaced by something worse: a world of militarized competition, eco-fascism, and technocratic management of permanent crisis. Acknowledging the collapse of the old order is not the same as building a democratic alternative to it.
What Mark Carney gets wrong about the end of the rules-based order
To re-establish power, defend sovereignty, and strengthen democratic values, Canada and its allies must do more than challenge the American state. We must also confront the influence of US corporate p...

…Except Carney’s denunciation of the neoliberal capitalist world order is later followed by him bragging about cutting taxes for businesses / investors and getting rid of government regulations

So I’m not quite sure what system Carney is railing against or what kind of world he aspires to build?

one of the worst things about so many canadians being glued to cnn and msnow is that they import that approach to politics, such that you can’t ever criticize the libs or carney because they’re your team even when they absolutely need to be pushed to do better.

Under Trudeau we saw the veneer of caring about human rights & international law start to crack with Canada's inability to be consistent in upholding international law, or our own human rights & trade laws, under Carney the veneer is gone entirely.
Under Carney the Liberal party has dropped the veneer of caring about human rights & international law (which was used only when it benefited Canada or our allies). It's now blatantly about "pragmatism" in trade, though the working class don't stand to benefit as tax & wealth inequality persists.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has been asked to join Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” for Gaza’s reconstruction.

And so far Carney hasn’t ruled out joining — in fact, CBC is reporting he’s going to accept.

When you hear the details of this “board,” you probably won’t be happy about that:
