I think the administration will try to agitate, but it’s important that we make these protests 1. HUGE and 2. Peaceful

Trump is going to continue to do everything in his power to try to incite violence somewhere. If Portland and Chicago don’t work, he’ll probably go to New York.

He’s looking for a reason to invoke the Insurrection Act.

I don’t just get a “sense” that there are meetings amongst the GOP. They all hype each other up behind the scenes (and leak to reporters about how they’re going to stand up to Trump), and then they fold like lawn chairs

I think if Vance takes over, he’s going to have a MUCH tougher time than Trump

Writer/reviewer @paulsemel.bsky.social has posted a new Q&A with yours truly on his website. We spoke about my new novel, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Ring of Fire, and had a fun chat; if you’re curious about the inspirations behind the book, check it out!

Yeah, @gregrucka.com's Checkmate was my favorite thing to come out of the Infinite Crisis era (the second being @gailsimone.bsky.social's Secret Six, and the third being 52).

That's why I got so excited when Sol Rodríguez was cast as Sasha Bordeaux. It's gonna be a fun ride ahead.

"And the idea of allowing Adebayo to really fulfill what is her sort of destiny and be the one who founds Checkmate in this universe was important too."

"I’ve always liked Checkmate. Those Greg Rucka Checkmate stories are just comics that I really, really love. So, I always wanted to build Checkmate into it somehow."

I was wondering if Lute would be getting her own musical number this Season.

While the Vees are this Season's central antagonist, I'm honestly more worried about Lute. She's the psychotic and extremist wild card on the board (especially in the wake of the events of "The Show Must Go On").

This will be their fourth collaboration together (after Trollhunters, The Shape of Water, and Pinocchio), and I've curious to hear Desplat's take on the Frankenstein mythos.

I'm liking what I'm hearing so far. Can't wait for the full score.

One element of Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein I've been most excited about is Alexandre Desplat's score.

“The Founders would never believe that it would ever come to pass that one state militia could be sent to another state for the purposes of political retribution”

THAT PART!

Thank you, Judge Perry.

As a San Franciscan trapped in Dodgers Territory, this feels like a more than reasonable, if collected, response to the failure of the Philadelphia Phillies this evening.

Banana republic shit.

If the reported facts are accurately, this is going to be a colossal embarrassment for DOJ.

While I ultimately didn't care for the Brian Michael Bendis era of Superman, there were a few highlights here and there.

This was the only part of Superman publicly revealing his true identity that I actually enjoyed: The Joker's reaction to the news, and him gleefully trolling Lex Luthor. 😆🤣😁

If we are taking in “trillion” of dollars in tariffs:

1. Why haven’t we paid down a cent of the debt?

2. Why can’t we afford to not fuck millions of people over with expiring insurance subsidies?

3. Why is none of it being used to help the abysmal job market?

And I also missed the S.C.E. eBooks back in the day, so I personally associate the Lovell more with Vanguard.
eanemanjames.bsky.social
Never mind, LOL.

All good.
eanemanjames.bsky.social
Seriously, with the Orions involved in this clambake, I can't believe I actually missed that.

It's probably because I was listening to the audiobook rather than actually reading it on my Kindle; "Zett" would DEFINITELY have caught my eye.

...Well, as a die-hard Vanguard reader, I think this sums up my embarrassment pretty succinctly, LOL.
