The problem is not lack of a medical school. This is specifically punting to a longer term "solution" that they can point to as doing something while not fixing more immediate issues. Doctors that already went through med school leave the state in droves. Fix that

For some reason, very few people these days will stand up and say it, but: the US federal bureaucracy is one of the great wonders of the world, staffed with incredibly diligent people who do their jobs well and care deeply.

Trump's destruction of the federal apparaus was a historic crime.
The Purged
Donald Trump’s destruction of the civil service is a tragedy not just for the roughly 300,000 workers who have been discarded, but for an entire nation.

But since you requested this, I will stop holding hands.

His playing is mediocre, which okay so it is with many people.

He is parroting a genre without seeming to know anything about what he is parroting.

Fine for YouTube. Less fine when you go on Colbert like you’re the resistance
I’m curious though: What do y’all want/need from Jesse that has prompted you to join the discourse? What is your expectation of this twenty something from Arkansas with an acoustic guitar and a pen? What is he *not* providing you (particularly you, Grayson Currin) that incited your ire? [3/3]

Hallelujah is not a Christmas song, please remove from all Christmas playlists, effective immediately. Especially the Buckley version, which is great but so over included.

I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).
Lay article attached:
One of the biggest microplastic pollution sources isn’t straws or grocery bags – it’s your tires
Every few years, the tires on your car wear thin and need to be replaced. But where does that lost tire material go? The answer, unfortunately, is often waterways, where the tiny microplastic particle...

My daughter's 1st grade class just had to cancel a Friday field trip to go watch URI women's bball bc the Brown shooter is still at large. We luckily have not had to have direct conversations w/her about school shootings yet, despite the safety drills that they do. I think that's about to change

This is the crux and why I'm mostly allergic to the useful idiocy of much of the abundance crew.
The big problem with NEPA reform -- which I'd like to see NEPA reformers grapple with a bit more -- is that if you open the thing up, most of the legislators doing the "reforming" are hostile to it & just want to get rid of env. review entirely. It's not a good-faith process.
