there are obviously a million of these every day but: it should be an administration-ending scandal that they're all referring to ICE agents being "in theater" in Minneapolis. They are literally talking about being at war with the civilians of an American city

"rich dipshit owner doesn't understand the industry he's bought into and clumsily destroys what made it good" feels less like a narrative unique to the washington post and more like the music that's been playing in the background of all our lives for at least 40 years

killing off a major source of books coverage goes really well next to Amazon/Goodreads on Bezos' resume for being the single most destructive individual for American literary culture in our history
So fucking infuriating watching Bezos and his cronies kill the Post. Taking away sports, books, and international reporting so you can write opinions praising Trump is so damn bleak.

One time I saw an oblivious guy at a bar blow it with a lady because he kept talking about his sick flight simulator rig he had at home. This kind of dude is locked in
Sorry for being nosy but I’m in a pretty quiet airport. a woman sat down next to a much older pilot here in the food court and started very obviously flirting with him but he absolutely cannot stop listing off aviation facts to her regardless of whatever question she asks him

for me the other one is when a dog screws up and the announcer says, "he's not a winner but his owner is gonna make sure he feels like one" as they're petting the dog and giving it treats. this is basically how the vikings have handled JJ McCarthy
One of the classic Westminster Dog Show bits for me is when the in-arena announcer describes the dogs as like "a courageous little clown and an ideal companion" while they're trotting around. More athletic competitions need that kind of real-time commentary.
