Jennings: Let's not get our knickers in a twist here

McGowan: Why are you talking like that? It's insane. Your attitude is just horrifying…

I don't think hostility toward non-voters is useful. I suppose it lets off steam, but it's foolish to burn that bridge unless one thinks their votes really are entirely unattainable--but then one's only option becomes poaching Republican voters, and that's even *less* likely to succeed.

How do Democrats expect to get trans people to vote for an anti-trans candidate? "Sure, our candidate doesn't think you deserve human rights, but their opponent hates you even more than that"? How could anyone attempt such a ghoulish line of argument? Are they just writing trans voters off?

DISQUALIFYING.
Genocide denial in 2026 is unforgivable and absolutely disqualifying.
Ben Shapiro: "Israel did not commit a genocide in Gaza"
Gavin Newsom: "I agree with you."

It wasn't the student's art. The student did not create it. It was plagiarized from other people's work, and it absolutely should have been destroyed as it never should have existed tk begin with.

Oh please let's do this.
Oh yes, oh yes. Let’s let this trend catch on.

Amy Schumer has gotten a whole lot of hate, yet she has not done anything anywhere near as horrible or damaging to this country as Chuck Schumer. In case you needed a reminder that misogyny exists, I guess.

liberals using the term "free world" to talk about white countries, and bemoaning how we are seen by white countries (when Black and Brown countries have always seen us as evil genocidal colonizers) is all I can see here.

even when liberals should be right, they manage to get it so so wrong.

So Bill Kristol said "Abolish ICE" but most elected Dems won't. They will argue that Kristol doesn't have an elected seat to worry about, which is superficially true, but ... whose votes are you chasing, Dems? What portion of your base is pro-ICE? Because Republicans aren't going to vote for you.

"Why is it OK for Andy Ogles to call us 'libt*rds' but it's not OK for Hillary Clinton to call them 'deplorables?'"

Because we live in a world of double standards.

Why did both Republicans *and* Democrats demand that Clinton apologize? And then, she caved and did so. How did that help her?

"Dr. King would rise as a moral indictment of a nation that loves his words but despises his demands."
What Would MLK Say If He Saw This Hot Mess Of A Country Now?
Dr. King’s dream was not an invitation to complacency; it was a call to arms of the spirit. A call to organize, to resist, to transform.

Just add it to the pile, I guess....
Ukrainian intelligence reportedly stopped sharing high-value data with the U.S. due to leaks reaching Moscow. Citing a severe breakdown in trust, senior leaders moved to protect sensitive info. This French report has sparked new calls for Trump's impeachment.

I curate a movie night--this year is films directed by women, which we select from a bowl. So far we've gotten She-Devil, The Night Porter, The Dead Girl, and The Adventures of Prince Achmed. I am already loving these intense juxtapositions!

And he was right. And it's why you can't be "socially liberal but fiscally conservative."
MLK believed civil rights and economic justice were inseparable — and that’s why he pushed for universal basic income: guaranteed cash for everyone to cover basic needs.

If you say ICE should get out of Minneapolis but you won't also say that ICE should be abolished, you're functionally saying ICE should be brutalizing other people somewhere else. If you want them to leave but you still want them to exist, where is it that you want them to go?

I keep watching in anger and frustration as prominent Democrats continue to defend Israel even though *the vast majority* of their voter base is against them on this point.

Democrats have an overwhelmingly negative view of Israel; the genocide of the Palestinians is utterly beyond debate.
Ben Shapiro: "Israel did not commit a genocide in Gaza"
Gavin Newsom: "I agree with you."

Much of this can be traced back to, or at least through, Clinton-era changes in immigration enforcement that created more brutal consequences and less oversight and restraint.

Both parties seem to love this. It's their voters who don't.
ICE actions are not a radical break but an intensification and extension of bipartisan consensus on the need for punitive immigration policy. Since its post-9/11 creation, people have warned that the tools given to ICE would eventually be turned on citizens.

If Democrats nominate a centrist that loses because progressives stay home, it's the progressives' fault they lose.

If Democrats nominate a progressive that loses because centrists vote Republican, it's ... the progressive's fault they lose.

What an annoying pattern.
