A beautiful evening walk. Just a few miles outside of #Birmingham city centre and tonight it’s so tranquil with just the sound of the birds settling in. Worth protecting ? A jewel yet still threatened by inappropriate development.

Plans have been put forward to part-pedestrianise Bearwood Road. This would open up space for recreation, chess matches, amateur wrestling matches, accordion playing, and allow cafes, bars and restaurants to expand onto the pavement and giving the high street a new lease of life.

The Brum Brew Fest takes place from 5th to 8th August, and for the first time, there are some Bearwood venues on the trail - The Craft Inn and 1000 Trades On The Park!

In light of this, we have issued a Travel Advisory Notice for any Brummies looking to cross the border into Bearwood:

The evening of memories, part of the @bosfonline.bsky.social 20th Anniversary celebrations was without doubt the highlight of the year so far for me.

Disposable BBQs are not allowed in #Birmingham’s parks and open spaces.

They can cause serious fires and damage precious green spaces. Please help keep our parks safe for everyone, leave the BBQ at home!

But WHY shouldn't I use a disposable BBQ in a park or an open space? 🤔

Gall of the week is a fungal gall which at first sight might be taken for an invertebrate gall, although the there is a larger protuberance on the underside of the leaf. It is caused by Exobasidium vaccinii on cowberry, Vaccinium vitis-idaea.
