Look, I'm not saying I definitely believe this, but it was very convenient that a 'crazy conspiracy theory' about sex-trafficking elites appeared in the years that Epstein & pals' monstrosities were coming to light

My final straw working in trans policy was NHS England's Specialised Commissioner's accidentally admitting to a group fo trans policy experts that the Cass Review was always designed to close GICs. And I wasn't allowed to acknowledge that they'd said it.

Great to see that @sheffielduni.bsky.social's response to the EHRC nonsense has been to increase universal toilet provision across campus. Really shows there are inclusive ways to response to the anti-trans climate. Bravo.

Does anyone else remember when a writer on tw*tter started discourse that it's ableist to say writers should read in their genre? And then turned out to be a nepo hire at Lockheed? Why is this now a normal position among students??
I've never encountered more students who say they hate reading. Students who want to be teachers, writers, or both. I wonder if "hate" means "I have trouble reading," but I also talk with so many students who write in a genre but refuse to read in it. They can't see themselves in relation to others.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think departments need to change their strategy for reading or grading student work.

The opening paragraph is wild. Aside from the fact that all people should just be able to use spaces appropriate to their gender, how lacking in thought do you have to be to present this as if only trans people will be challenged because...how could that even work??

It feels scary but also time to publicly say that after many years of back and forth, I'm pretty sure I need to get top surgery in the coming years. I'm not quite ready to start the process yet, but I am excited about the idea of being free of these girls.
