NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war

“Return, or prison”: Inside IOM and Greece’s failing migrant return scheme
The UN agency started offering larger cash grants as an alternative to prison. When that didn’t work, it revised down the targets of the scheme.

The feeding frenzy for stirring up anti-immigration sentiment using video click baits, has no bottom!! I am so disgusted by this circus of "the social media influencers culture" who are destroying human rights for personal gain.

Companies are marketing “alternatives” to immigration detention such as ankle monitors, GPS-enabled watches, and biometric reporting apps. But research by Petra Molnar, Daniel Ghezelbash, Carolina Gottardo, and Antonella Napolitano finds that tech doesn’t dismantle detention—it expands it.

Despite the stories of mass arrests, most “smugglers” jailed in Greece are asylum-seekers who were coerced into driving boats.

Fast-track trials and flawed evidence raise serious concerns about justice. #EMIF @voxeurop.bsky.social

🚨The EU’s new “Return Regulation” is really a Deportation Regulation.

It expands detention, weakens safeguards & creates profit for private contractors – at the expense of people’s dignity & communities.

Over 200 organisations say: Reject it.

The CJEU has ruled that Member States cannot prosecute asylum-seeking mothers who travelled on false documents with their children as people smugglers - in a judgment with broader implications for the criminalisation of immigration.

EU governments are pushing to set up deportation camps in non-EU countries — and to do so in a way that avoids judicial scrutiny.

These so-called “return hubs” would hold people who have received a final deportation order, even if they cannot be sent to their country of origin.
Newly leaked EU document reveals plans for deportation camps - designed to evade judicial scrutiny.
