I confidently predict that people who profess to be outraged by, say, the removal or destruction of statues honouring slavers and other racists because "history something tradition something something" will be completely silent about this abomination.

Arizona A.G. Kris Mayes explains why she is suing Mike Johnson for not swearing Adelita Grijalva into office. "By not swearing her in he's depriving 813,000 Arizonans of representation. That's called taxation without representation. We fought a revolutionary war over that."

This isn't complicated, he's just straight up extorting the Justice Deparment and looting taxpayers to put $230 million in his own pocket. Don't hold your breath waiting for any Republicans in the party to speak up about this either. https://nyti.ms/4oxtpQW

Brian Schatz: "This is not about money. There is enough money to bail out Argentina with $20b. There is enough money to purchase a brand new aircraft for $173m for Noem. There is enough money to renovate the WH ballroom. What there isn't enough money for under this Republican government is you."
I am an American citizen and never have had to fill out a form of contact info for our government before I am even allowed to check in or come home to US.Just had AA send an email with this request. This is new.Besides I have paid for Global Entry and so the government has my whole identity already
Yes. I once made a cable sweater with expensive mostly merino. And it was dark brown. Big mistake . I can hardly see the cables especially now with some fuzzing after washing . Still a nice warm sweater , but wrong choice of yarn 🧶

This is insane.

“It won’t interfere with the current building. It’ll be near it but not touching it — and pays total respect to the existing building, which I’m the biggest fan of," Trump said in July. “It’s my favorite. It’s my favorite place. I love it.”

In Ljubljana Slovenia and went to their Natural Museum. Loved they had an exhibit on saving native wildlife! #NativePlants
I’m from NY and have traveled by trains in Europe the last couple of years. Used to rent cars but trains are much easier! We fly to some airport and move all over. On vacation now ;flew into Milan, train to Verona; bus (also good) to Ljubljana, bus tomorrow to Trieste then train back to Milan- Home!
I know I’ve said this more than once, and I know it’s really obvious, but taking the train between cities in Europe is just fantastic. So easy.

One of the dumbest mistakes North America ever made, and continues to make, is doing so relatively little with trains. Train networks are nation-building.

Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.
The entire HR department at the CDC is gone. Everyone at the IRB, which makes sure studies are conducted ethically and rigorously, and the ethics office, which oversee conflicts of interest for CDC leaders and advisory committee members, were also let go.
