Any recommended readings at the intersection of AI/ML development, embedded systems and topics like quantisation and compression? Long form preferred.

Wondering about these two online books too (as they may be less focused): arcala-research-lab.github.io/Efficient_ML... mlsysbook.ai/book/

Can someone ELIA5 why "proof of stake" in Ethereum is a good idea? One appeal was to reduce the environment footprint significantly over the previous proof system. Apparently that is a success. But what of stake bias?

Looking at retrospectives of the 2025 news on the US, two song titles came to mind to describe the overall impression: "Do you know the ICE screaming men?" and "Baby Trump, doo‑doo‑doo‑doo‑doo‑doo".

Apple is in talk with Starlink for direct integration in smartphones.

What can go wrong on liberties when a verically integrated private platform integrates itself on a complementary vertically integrated private platform?

End to end privacy is useful only when there is end to end connectivity.

The International Intrigue people estimate 90% possible that crypto goes mainstream this year in the US. Interesting prompts on the geopolitics consequences.

i respect Cory and believe he contributes to a better world. Is every thinker/writer valid only if they both foresee/explain complicated problems AND solve them?
Lessig tried. His naive grasp of tech led us to dead ends except Creative Commons, which launched with one of Cory’s books.

Eric Schmitt a year ago: Everyone knows that Trump will be less interventionist, we can't be everywhere all at once, we need to focus on defending the homeland.

Eric Schmitt today: Conquering the entire world is a time honored tradition that's in our blood.

Someone want to call him out on this?

Damn. Team successfully gets a project from a governmental space agency. Now everyone has to get an online research ethics course on a late 90s website. No LLM escape hatch this time.

I’m old enough to remember when the Epstein Files were the distraction
Let's be clear. Donald Trump will indict the Fed Chair, kidnap foreign leaders and kill American citizens in MN if it distracts you from asking WTF is in the Epstein files because HIS BASE doesn't like pedophiles. None of this is normal. But everything he does is from weakness right now.
