I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Chicago, Wang Baodong, was from Shandong - it felt like serendipity that I had also brought a really nice tea from Shandong to serve him during the tea ceremony 🍵

Our new Writers Workshop was surprisingly productive today despite the chill in the air - we learned about mind mapping / spider webbing, discussed our works in project, and then did a 100 word micro fiction piece based on the prompt: map

After an incredibly stressful drive on icy mid-construction roads I finally made it to Detroit. Excited/nervous for Detroit China Day today - I’m MCing the Cultural Event and then pouring tea for Michigan, Detroit and Chinese officials
