Excerpt from the novel “White Noise” by Don DeLillo:
“I am chairman of the department of Hitler studies at the College-on-the-Hill. linvented Hitler studies in North America in March of 1968. My willow tree blew over in that big monsoon two months ago, but I righted the stump after the landscapers trimmed it back to the break. Didn’t add any new soil, just raked it back to fill in the uproot cavity. Willow is growing back nicely already, but also uhhh 👀

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.
