Kids are really into battle bots and I am looking for suggestions for affordable but not bad remote control cars they can glue stuff onto and crash into each other.

“I asked ChatGPT” “I asked Claude”
Well I asked Melian, Queen of Doriath, and unsurpassed wisdom and then I did the opposite.

Are there inedible birds?
You were all having a good day and I am here to ruin it:

All of the birds given as gifts in “12 days of Christmas” are edible birds, and I am not sure why so many of you believe they were all intended to be kept as pets for years after receipt.

No matter what outcome you study Nirsevimab seems to land at around 80% effective. Fun to watch these studies come out and line up so well with each other.

The other interesting thing is how many vaccine hesitant parents are like, "oh hell yeah" when you say you have something to prevent RSV.
"In this multicenter case-control investigation, nirsevimab was 80% effective at preventing RSV-associated ICU admission and 83% effective at preventing acute respiratory failure"

IMO as outpatient peds outside of mycoplasma outbreaks and weird cases the only test that impacts management is flu. Oselamivir might not be super well evidenced but at times write it for the patient or a premie in the house if a sib has flu.

These guidelines read as pretty reasonable to me
Respiratory PCR testing has exploded since the pandemic, but tests are expensive and sometimes used indiscriminately

We produced a statement for our regional paediatric network to help guide testing and improve diagnostic stewardship
