if you're wondering when I'm gonna release a new song, the answer is "as soon as I catch a fucking break", so you might be waiting a long time.

ditching adobe is really hard when every alternative is either Flunkly™️ which is *almost* feature complete except for that one thing you do in Photoshop every single day or G.R.O.N.K., a FOSS app with the worst fucking UX you have ever seen in your life and no support for JPEGs for ethical reasons

I don't know what brain damage has occurred here, but if this isn't a measurement error and I actually run out of space on this ReFS devdrive, I'm uninstalling windows

If everyone at cons actually wore masks consistently I might be able to go to them again
This'll probably gonna fall on deaf ears but I'll say it anyway.
If you're going to MFF, wear a mask if you can. Given the time of year, packed in location, and attendance size, that con is pretty much furry's biggest super spreader event each year. #MFF

The quintessential experience of friendship is telling someone about a terrible, awful idea you had and their response is simply "I know how to make that even worse"

instead of shipping debug symbols, games should ship entire debug branches. Or just be source-available. I bet a lot of games would be source-available if we could get a good, easy to use, source-available license suitable for widespread use, like Creative Commons but for source-available.
PLEASE DO NOT…
… in your general release build. Make it an external download! PDB files can quickly get massive - Satisfactory‘s install size was 40% PDB files last I checked which were completely unnecessary for the game itself. Now to be fair, it‘s a UE game so a bit if an extreme example.

I have a theory that programmers try to reframe all problems with open-source as "engineering problems" because those are the only kinds of problems they actually know how to fix.

None of them know how to resolve a fundamental conflict of values, or even recognize that there is one.

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead

What that means is _you_ will be left. The people with passion will be left, everyone else will be chasing the next boom and bust. Because these people never cared about software, they cared about the money they made from it.

I can't be more happy to see them leave, I rather work with you.

please don't, i avoid them too - after my stunt in minecraft modding i wish to never deal with a funny license for something important ever again
when I was at google, their class on licenses basically said "we can't use any license that's funny"

so I suggest everyone license their software as funny as possible
finally a normal software license that definitely holds up really well

Please only do this if you don't want *anyone* to use your code, or it isn't a library. There is no way for me to vet every author of every dependency I use, and even if I did, what if they go crazy in 10 years? Actually fixing the open-source license ecosystem should involve lawyers, not memes.
