Listening to R4 Farming prog. Protesting farmer "I can't afford the tax". Reporter "You have 7yrs to split between yr kids." Farmer "I might not live that long and anyway my kids might not want to continue farming." 🤔 So, you're dead. Your kids don't want to farm.🧵

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Can someone tell Mahmood that the Tommy Robinson/Reform voter she’s nodding to with her policies don’t just call her “paki” to (and behind) her face, but they’d deport her if they got the chance & she’s opening the door to giving them that chance by using their language & rhetoric, legitimising it.

The sad thing is, on reading this line, it will be fist bumps all around in Shabana Mahmood's office. Because becoming Reform is their plan to beat it.
I hope every Labour MP considering whether to support Shabana Mahmood's asylum plans remembers Nigel Farage's assessment that the “Home Secretary sounds like a Reform supporter.”

If they support them they will too.

People like this have always been there, they don't make me embarrassed to be British. I'm just angry that the party I voted for seeks their approval over mine.
Just some British patriots in Benidorm, taking over a street in Spain to shout in their own language about unwanted foreigners. It’s a blessing that they are too thick to understand irony.

If you’re going to have cameras everywhere and fine people for pouring coffee down the drain you can’t then let organised criminals dump hundreds of trucks full of waste in a 150m long disaster and be like “oh, sorry, didn’t see anything, not our problem.”

The BBC Radio4 Today programme interview this a.m. with the chief exec of a UK-based co (didn't catch name) confirmed my fears. He projects shedding 30% workforce by using AI & plans to outsource as many jobs as poss to Thailand because their employment laws are more 'business friendly'. 🧵

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.
