New from 404 Media: ICE's facial recognition app, which the agency is using to decide who to detain and deport, misidentified a woman. Twice.

ICE says results of the app are definitive and override a birth certificate; obviously this case shows the app is inaccurate

More people have died in ICE custody during the first three weeks of 2026 than died during the first three months of 2025
I posted about the fifth detained death less than 24 hours ago. Now, ICE reports its sixth detained death of 2026. Call your representatives in Congress now and tell them no more funding for detention. ICE clearly can’t handle it.

Update:

The admin is moving to quickly deport witnesses who saw ICE detainee die.

They say the man was just trying to get his meds.

ICE guards shackled him

Then they choked him.

The admin moved to deport the witnesses — right after they spoke to WaPo.

In case you missed it, our investigation from earlier this week:

Amid a MASSIVE expansion in immigration detention in 2025, the number of ICE detention facility inspections dropped by 36.25%.

Not the key part of this story, obviously... but they *sold* his phone? WTF?
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

By Shaila Dewan

Federal officials said the Minneapolis driver who was shot by an immigration agent was using her vehicle as a weapon, a claim that local officials have disputed.

Genuinely disturbing that "America has an [INSERT ETHNICITY HERE] problem" has become this normalized in U.S. politics.
JD Vance: "I believe we're gonna have some very big announcements in the next couple of days. I don't want to get ahead of the president, but we believe there is a nationwide fraud ring that's rooted in illegal aliens and others taking advantage of the American welfare system."

Not to be a RETVRN guy, but this just feels like the latest and most extreme in a series of increasingly incoherent dietary guidelines infographics. The original food pyramid may have been _wrong_, but at least it communicated its message clearly.
I know there’s a lot going on but it’s insane that rice and beans, a cheap and healthy and filling combo that has been a staple to countless different cultures for thousands of years, are pushed down here in favor of raw meat and a giant “Elf Needs Food Badly” ass turkey.
