It's here!!! THE BEST OF ALL-STORY LOVE: 1929, a first-of-its-kind anthology of #pulp #romance stories from that magazine's first year. It took long enough, but I'm ever so happy I can bring at least a fraction of this forgotten part of romance history to light. 💕 #romancelandia #booksky📚💙

Bluesky is my happy place, but only because I ruthlessly curate my experience. I have no idea what drama/tension the " power users" have, because feankly, my time is more valuable than living my life 1000% online with a need to Always Be Right.

I'm still enjoying it very much and it's my favorite social media site, also, I'm very aware that the rift of visions for the site between its staff and its power users has become a chasm, especially in the last several months.

I love the old "Ancient Mysteries" and Mysteries of the Bible" series - peak 90s A&E programming. And I love the fact that I can still watch these series on StoryTV, a digital sub-sub-channel 😂

New review: Nurse at Moorcroft Manor (1967). Slim, fast-paced novel with a competent nurse heroine, which unfortunately shows its age because nobody believes her when she says her patient is in trouble 😒 📚 #romancelandia

I read the entire canon a few years ago. I prefer Holmes in short story form, personally.
On this day, in 1892, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" was published. Although the stories it contained had appeared before in magazines, this marked their debut in book format. Are you a #SherlockHolmes fan? What have you read? #💙📚 #Booksky

Most "classics" are boring as fuck to a modern reader in no small part because the context of the story is not understood by them and so many of the allusions and "inside jokes" known to then-contemporary readers have been lost in time and in translation

Prepping for Halloween. We never get any kids at the house (because we live out of town at the end of a long driveway) but kids show up at the church for trick or treat, so we'll be ready. And indeed we are the Full-Sized Candy Bar People because we can be, and if you can, why wouldn't you.
