yeah, itβs extremely likely your text editor is already saving everything in utf-8 already. basically all software except for sys calls in windows(and i think maybe java strings?) use utf-8, and even the windows syscalls support utf-8 now iirc, so its pretty likely that you dont mean to use utf-16.

utf-8 and utf-16 are different ways of encoding the same data, there are no unicode codepoints that only exist in one and not the other.

woke up. cat sitting next to my head, purring. baked cookies from dough i made yesterday. went back to bed to cuddle with the love of my life as she woke up. made us yummy custardy french toast. the world is a beautiful place.
