The Burnham Building, a century-old, temple-like pavilion in Jackson Park that for years has lain in near ruin, appears finally set to receive the restoration it rightly deserves. "We're trying to bring it back to its former glory," the Chicago Park District's Heather Gleason said.
As the Obama Center nears completion, a long-neglected Jackson Park pavilion finally getting its due

This is literally what they do whenever a Black person is killed by police. No matter how solid the evidence is, they will keep pushing that lie, not just to poison the conversation and make sure the killer walks free, but to reassert the political idea that these people deserve to be killed.
The shooting is shocking enough but the government's response is off the charts when you consider that this incident is forensically documented on video.

My background as a bouncer/bartender continues to be the main driver in the things I’ve been able to accomplish.

Without it I don’t think I have 2 master’s degrees, journalism awards, articles framed in schools/museums, along with teaching a class at a university based on a book I coauthored.

So Capitol Police officers were assaulted and injured on Jan 6th, the White House today is blaming them for the violence, and the people who attacked them have been pardoned and are back to mock and abuse them on the 5th anniversary.

And the GOP is the party of the police? Really? REALLY??

Dear 2025,

I wouldn’t say I learned anything new. However, I’ll say the following:

Accept the things you can’t change.

Find the courage and wisdom for the things you can.

Go for a walk.

Surround yourself with goodness people.

And, perhaps most importantly, stay cool.
