Bears head coach Ben Johnson on Eagles DC Vic Fangio: "He's like the godfather in a lot of ways. He's kind of taken the league over with that scheme. ... He's influenced the game significantly. ... He's usually a step ahead of the opposing play-caller."

Bears DC Dennis Allen: "Here's the thing about Saquon (Barkley), every time he touches the ball, he's a threat to go all the way."

Allen faced Barkley last season, and said that game was a good example. Saints held him in check in the first half, then he had a 67-yard TD run in an Eagles win.

A common question about the 2025 Bears has been, is this sustainable?

My thought: Does it matter? They're 8-3 and might need to go only 2-4 to make the playoffs.

@danwiederer.bsky.social and I tackle that topic, along with Caleb Williams, the CBs and OL
Can the 8-3 Chicago Bears keep winning this way?
The Black Friday game in Philadelphia might tell us how good the Bears really are, but for now, it's hard to doubt the progress.

Sunday was the second time this year the Bears allowed only 1 QB hit (Dallas). The last time they had two games in a season giving up 1 QBH? 2018.

Caleb Williams also got rid of the ball quickly, his lowest time to throw in 2025 (2.57 seconds) via @trumedia.bsky.social.

Caleb Williams has completed less than 60% of his passes in seven games this season.

In those games, the Bears are 7-0.

All other teams this season when their QB is below 60% passing (min. 20 attempts)?

26-58 (.310)

Bears squander an opportunity to make it a two-score game. DJ Moore, Rome Odunze inches away from a first down, and Ben Johnson elects to punt on 4th-and-1.
