I don't often read contemporary litfic but Perfection by Vincenzo Latronico (trans. by Sophie Hughes) was one of my favorite reads of the year. A searing commentary on the homogenization of the modern "expat life". I felt both seen and exposed. I'll never look at my avocado tree the same way again.

After a few worldbuilding-heavy projects, I've been working on a script that is set in present day US and I'm like w o w I don't have to agonize over my action lines trying to convey a whole new world??? (Don't get me wrong, it's my favorite thing to do, but I'm enjoying a break from it)

The Tower’s Tale~ some concept designs done for Victor’s Lab Tower from @realgdt.bsky.social FRANKENSTEIN! Based on the Wallace Monument in Scotland we visited during early scouting. Details and form would be worked up over revisions & the final design built into an amazing (huge) practical model.
