Saw some delightful lenticular clouds floating above the Olympic mountains today.

Seattle has some great scenery. We see these kinds of clouds often over Mt Rainier, but I’ve not seen them over the Olympics before.

A news story from Geekwire, a blurb that reads: Gig Harbor-based Heritage Distilling Holding Co. Inc. announced it has raised $223.8 million. Heritage raised the money through a private investment in public equity (PIPE) financing, which is a means for public companies to sell shares to select investors at a discount. According to an Aug. 25 news release, $95 million will be cash and $128.8 million will be in the cryptocurrency token $IP, the native token of the blockchain company Heritage, founded in 2011, makes whiskeys, vodkas, gins, rums and canned cocktails. A screenshot of the heritage distilling website, a blurb reads: By aligning its reserves with Story’s AI-native infrastructure for registering, licensing, and monetizing IP, Heritage gains exposure to the biggest opportunities disrupting the asset class.

TLDR: AI-generated news erases women’s achievements.

Recently a woman was appointed as Interim Executive of King County, WA. She is the first woman in that role & local news mentioned it.

I then saw this AI “news” account generated an article…repeatedly calling the exec he/him/his.

TBC because the OP is framing this like libgen is evil: META are the bad guys here. Libgen is one of the only tools archiving rapidly disappearing digital libraries of ebooks. Now more than ever with banned books on the rise, we need resources like libgen. Meta has no right to scrape that archive.
