🎶Immunity is not a permanent legal condition. It is a political arrangement that survives only as long as the regime that grants it.🎶

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

this is just conservatism, no understanding of the systems they benefit from and constant false victimhood
It's so exhausting to to be constantly told by American leaders that the defining policy of the 80 odd years during which the US became the most wealthy and powerful country in the history of the world was a grossly unfair failure for them.
US trade secretary Howard Lutnick really not mincing his words here at Davos: "We are here to make a v clear point: globalisation has failed the West and the USA. It's a failed policy. It's what the WEF has stood for, which is, export, offshore, find the cheapest labour in the world."

I think people underestimate how big this is. Like a city-wide strike is not something that has happened in the US for nearly 100 years
there are a bunch of big names on this list, including multiple beard award winners, and some places i never would have guessed in a hundred years (the malt shop?!) and i'm genuinely floored and delighted to see so many participants

BREAKING — ChongLy Scott Thao's family has released a statement disputing DHS's outrageous justification for his arrest.

"He does not live with, nor has he ever lived with, the individuals DHS claims were targets of this operation...[the family] does not know the individuals DHS references."

i was talking with someone in the twin cities about how it’s not even accurate to call them protesters. they’re literally just people protecting their city from TERRORISTS.
Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

Liberals are undefeated in the realm of purity politics and semantic fixation. You’re absolutely being pedantic.

It’s not inaccurate to colloquially refer to perpetrators of state-sponsored terror as terrorists. People need to save this BS for their stints on dissertation committees
Not to be pedantic, but I'm a little hesitant to use terrorism as a frame for ICE. Terrorists act outside the law, while it's not even clear that what ICE is doing is illegal according to U.S. law. Better to describe them as something like stormtroopers or gestapo in my opinion.

“News” i’m not old enough to have ever watched CBS outside of sitcoms that I probably saw serialized somewhere else, but I find it hard to believe regular viewers aren’t asking themselves what the hell is going on
UPDATE: Jack Daniel’s parent co. Brown-Forman tells me it has nothing to do with CBS’ “Whiskey Friday” concept. “Jack Daniel’s is not involved in any such segment, nor do we have any awareness of the segment and any potential partnerships or sponsorships.”
Update — Here is what the new apparent CBS News segment "Whiskey Fridays with Tony Dokoupil" may look like:

I’m completely unable to get any normies I know to understand what’s happening b/c they are all so wedded to the idea that MSM (particularly NPR) “would tell us if it was really that bad.” It’s happening constantly, but they only hear about it in 2 min segments and think each incident is isolated
There’s zero normal life right now. Whatever you’re imagining, it’s worse. And to hear it from queer friends who already had to flee Texas (after being 4th and 5th generation Texans) trying to figure out where they can go next … I just don’t even know.
