We've had Hereditary, Get Out, Sinners and Weapons so it frustrates me that horror films are still seen as "less than" & must be seen as "more than just". Having seen Frankenstein (which I really enjoyed) it's a fucking horror film and there's nothing wrong with that

Don’t Call Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ a Horror Movie
Everyone involved sees it as much more than that.

The amount of Irish people who know more about American politics than Irish politics always makes me despair.

Hard agree!

How Leto keeps getting hired is beyond me?? Surely he's no longer a pull for audiences?

Low/no budget filmmakers have been finding ways to make what they want for decades prior to using AI so please spare me. LAZY! TASTELESS! CULTURAL VOID!

One of my absolutely fav films and so grateful to @ewhag.com for introducing me to it 💜

Yes and no. Lots of new hotels and unnecessary fancy offices but no culture as all the interesting art and nightlife spaces are being shut down. Dublin is wearing the mask of a vibrant city, but is not one.

Worry about who you are, and who you want to be, not what you think you're "supposed" to be. Indulge hobbies, and don't stop being curious. Whether it's writing, gardening, woodworking, whatever. You do not know what lessons those will teach you that may be far more important than you realize.

Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

One of my fav films and I feel so annoyed I never got to experience this film on the big screen.

I think the comanche version is also even more impressive and immersive.

Had my first Daggerheart session today and I am already in love with how collaborative and creative this game is.

One of the things that has always been true, but doesn’t get addressed until you start to get pretty nerdy in talking about horror, is that it’s actually many different audiences, pushed together under the umbrella of horror. That variation, is good for the genre and audiences.

Horror doesn't have to be about violence and gore, and there's nothing wrong with preferring ghost stories or weird, eerie stuff. I have very good reasons for avoiding violent stories when I feel like I can't handle them. I still love horror.

I hope its a manageable dose for you and you're on the mend soon 💜
Appreciate the reminder to mask/test because so few people are doing that anymore

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

Worked up a poster for Sinners - that cross section of horror movies, period pieces, and roots music checks an awful lot of my boxes, and heavens but it was beautifully made.
A desaturated blue (just glancing at green from across the street), black, and yellow-orange poster. It features Miles Caton in the middle playing his guitar, shadowed faces of Michael B. Jordan on either side of him (with the Stack character sporting the orange echoed elsewhere for his gold tooth). At the bottom, in heavy shadows, is the vampire band, and behind them, silhouettes lit by flame, are line-dancing figures with glowing eyes. Their shape suggests that a few of them are characters from the movie: Mary, Pearline, Cornbread, and Bo Chow. There are credits, an R rating, and a Warner Brother's logo at the bottom and above the film's title (done in an old timey flashy saloon font that might befit a juke joint) is the text "A film by Ryan Coogler."
