Can anyone provide context about this? I can find no game files with a trace of the LM design. I did however find out that there is a fan translation for the more complete Japanese version, so I'm wondering if they also texture edited King Boo for that. He doesn't appear to be different mesh-wise.

King Boo seemingly has a different design in different versions/updates of Mario Kart Arcade GP DX. All images on MarioWiki are of his typical spinoff design, but there are videos of his Luigi's Mansion design too, with the CSS icon using the render from Tour (or is it the other way around? 👀)

So far the only actual dump featuring him i can find is one with his standard design, and even that's rare as most dumps don't have him at all. This is pretty interesting. I don't know when his LM design even entered the picture, or why the videos with it are in English-
