I have been informed that elementary music teachers are trained to teach notes in this order:

Sol, mi - K
La - 1st grade
Do - 2nd grade
Re - 3rd
Ti - 4th
Fa - 5th

You're not old enough to learn fa until age 10.

(No shade to the band whatsoever) MAGFest, we love you, but it hurts aspiring performers when you don’t abide by your own policies about year-to-year bookings. Third year in a row of the same band. These kinds of decisions do not go unnoticed by the community of artists who support you.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

We had a lockdown drill today and my music room has a flashing emergency light just in case I can’t hear the announcement. The office couldn’t turn the flashing light off for 42 minutes after the drill was over. As if I’m not triggered enough 🚨
