According to the UK treasury, payment processors are in the right and the gouvernment has no plans to step in. This puts it in direct contrast to what artists and the UK games industry have asked for.

Btw, as the Itchio noise and all died down, Adult games are technically just banned now.

Some adult games are still being sold, yes, but if you get caught or reported or whatever, all your payment options will be yanked and only a husk remains.

Also worth mentioning regarding the Visa/PayPal/Stripe/etc situation, They're basically saying you aren't allowed to buy Sonic games and media either with these downright oppressive rules they put in place.

An image taken from an e-mail from Payment Cloud to me. They list prohibited adult work, one of which just includes "Fantasy" which is as wide as cat ears and fairies. We are so cooked.

Visa and Mastercard now say you can't pay for WoW. Magic the Gathering. FFXIV. DnD. Lord of the Rings. Because they're all "adult" content against their ToS just for being "fantasy".
