I work in an exhibit with live spiders, and I think I have lost count how often people misheard "green lynx spider" as "green link spider"...

I think letting children make books together gets them thinking in a lot of ways that inevitably lead to increased media literacy. Telling stories helps you to recognise stories elsewhere. Who is telling them? How are they being told? And why are they being told this way?

In my opinion it’s time to retire the Nobel prizes for fields where most of the important discoveries have already been made, like physics, and add prizes for newer fields where substantial innovations occur every year, like speedrunning

Pillars of Eternity is one of my favorite games of all time but if you do all the Teir Evron god-quests (when the game encourages you to really only do one) you have to kill waaaaay too many people and Eir Glanfath would have every right to publicly flay you.

Very niche pet-peeve to have with everything related to AI content but I hate when modders use AIgen images as thumbnails for their mods. Just take a screenshot of your mod in action even if its QoL or some particle effects. The thumbnail needs to show your goddamn mod.

According to the City of Paris, in the last 10 years 150K trees have been planted & 45ha of parks created in the already hot city, all intended to not only improve quality-of-life today, but also help the city adapt to & manage summer heatwaves of 50℃ (122F) by 2050.
