as started making a game last year, I went close to gaming industries which led me deeply depressed. what helped me to look forward again was the existence of hobbyist game makers who create things for own personal pursuit. regarding those, this article pushed my back and eased a sense of isolation
New article: I asked hobbyist game makers if they used to want to work in the game industry, and if they still do. They answered more or less how I expected, but it also revealed something else.

While we've gotten affirming feedback on Engine Angel, pitching unfortunately hasn't been successful. As a result, we've had to make the hard decision to lay off five team members. sometimes we just wanna climb up things to see if we can do it, maybe to get a nice view, or to learn a new hiding spot. it's frustrating if every nook has "rewards"

in discone, most paths are uncharted, and you will climb and parkour them with your friends
