Life is like a game of chess; I don’t know how to play chess. I'm a blubberous, verbose, and regimented old man from the US.

Is non-fiction Wikipedia writing… art? It's a **kind** of creative endeavor—albeit sterile, dry, and unevocative, but hey, it's what I got.

Every time I plug my 'space-gray' MacBook into a USB-C to charge, I get super-paranoid remembering from *Sherlock*'s "A Study in Pink":

> Power connection: tiny little scuff marks around the edge of it. […] You never see those marks on a sober man's phone; never see a drunk's without them.

Just realized I have to be back up in less than four hours to get ready for a 75-minute drive to a 30-minute doctor's appointment. Then, I've a date with @scottcranfill.com in the afternoon. Maybe I can squeeze in a nap?

@peterclines.com Mr. Clines, I'm sorry to bother you, but I can't seem to find your sequel to *Paradox Bound* listed anywhere online! I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. Cheers!

@scottcranfill.com Is this the tea you thought I might actually like?
Update! I have now also received a mailer, that included a sample of the tea that I already bought (and tried, it's very good.)

Working at Wards during its death throes, we sold Razor scooters that very last year. We ended up with a non-salable one, so we, in electronics & appliances, co-opted it for our nigh-constant trips through the warehouse to check on stock. On the slick concrete floors back there, it was pretty fun!

Do the Germans have a word for "I haven't read the news all day and I feel better but also guilty about feeling better?" Is that what Fahrvergnügen means?

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.
