Are we still doing diner journalism? Because today at a greasy spoon in Stateline, Nevada, a 65 year old birder named Maryanne told me that she likes that “Mamdonnelly” fellow and thinks that Donald Trump is a pedophile.

To my pleasant surprise, the New York Times does not abstain from acknowledging the basic fact in this article: Nefesh B'Nefesh promotes settlement in the occupied West Bank.

This is the value of having a mayor elect who is willing to say the truth, it compels the conversation to change bit by bit.

Most say this isn't for the purpose of later on having nuclear arms capability but he has said in the past even publicly that if Israel and Iran are allowed to have them then Saudi will also pursue them. Separately though he does have big asks re: Palestine. I know some of specifics from last yr.

It is worth remarking upon how little of a list of asks this is in the grand scheme and neither the US nor Israel were or are capable of fulfilling them.

If you want an idea of what MBS has been asking for for well over a year in exchange for normalization, this is what he was asking for in May-July 2024, which was *before* he hardened his stance publicly.
in the summer of 2024 what he was asking for on the Palestinian question included

-US recognition of Palestine and UN admission of Palestine to full member status
-A new UNSCR which enshrines 1967 borders 2ss as intl legal policy
-A permanent cessation of all Israeli settlement building.

Wild that in the next few years GO will likely overtake the 24/7, higher frequency, and much larger LIRR in daily ridership. Can only imagine how much higher it will be as service continues to grow to rapid transit levels.

Fare and service integration and a *nice* system clearly help.

Yeah. What are journalism ethics anyway?

Those men were TVO’s Steve Paikin and Global News’ Ben Mulroney:
