Yeats said to the audience "You have disgraced yourselves. Again."
On its opening night #OTD 1907, J. M. Synge's ‘Playboy of the Western World’ caused riots in the Abbey Theatre. His portrayal of the Irish as a drunken, feckless peasantry caused outrage, as did the mention of ladies' undergarments.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

Come on now. If Trump had served in Vietnam, that war would've ended in a day. Maybe even half a day.

Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

Genuine question: Is anyone in the media asking Farage directly where he stands on Trump dissing the hundreds of British troops who were killed in Afghanistan?
Farage would sell this country out in a heartbeat

Well this thread turned out to be a lovely resource for anyone who's decided to make something of the Year of Reading
I've faced up to the fact that I read voraciously for work but almost never for pleasure. I'm going to reboot my reading life with a reading challenge. Something big. I've read Moby Dick (for work) and the Odyssey (for work).
Shall I do Dante?
Or have you got a better idea?

Is it perverse to admire the people in the audience who are keeping their faces straight at this point? I mean they're morally imbeclic but that is some Olga Korbut level of muscular control.
Trump: "There are windmills all over Europe. There are windmills all over the place. And they are losers. One thing I've noticed is that the more windmills a country has, the more money that country loses, and the worse that country is doing. I haven't been able to find any wind farms in China."

And that he thinks terrorizing entire countries and destroying NATO (for Putin) is funny?

If you're wondering why you haven't seen any white supremacist groups showing up to protest the protesters in cities where I.C.E. is terrorizing people, it's because they're already there.
