Unrelated, but seeing your smooth cubes reminded me how far we've come since Azatoth/Phenomena's Vectormana amiga demo (from 1990) showed 6 whole rotating cubes on screen and everyone was floored (timestamped)

I printed some game shots I made and put them on my office wall. As there’s no 90 degree angle in my house from 1890, this was quite the challenge. Had them done with a matte finish, which turned out great, no glare/reflections!

yeah same! I think it started when they fired their entire test team for windows some years ago in favor of this 'insiders' program, so basically the users became the test group :X
It's a shame really, their automated test lab was really cool (bots build OS->pave machine->run tests->post results)

oof, that... is pretty bad indeed. All these win apps are MAUI/WPF apps using the windows store. Maybe it tries to pull an update from there and fails e.g. because you aren't logged into a MS account? (wouldn't be surprised they didn't think of that situation :D )

I don't know which idiot vibe-coded this phase together but they absolutely messed it up big time. This takes several minutes but nothing is doing much. CPU: < 1%, network < 1%, disks: crickets.
