"Dyson, the Tesla of vacuum cleaners"

😎
I few years ago I duped myself into purchasing a Dyson, the Tesla of vacuum cleaners, wherein the only way to keep the filters clean enough to use it is with our much older Henry Hoover, the OG and a superior product in every way

This, but not just people from the left.

Sure, you are loving, compassionate, and you are concerned about the welfare of other animals, so long as those animals are you pets, or you consider them to be cute.
Something I never understand: why is it so hard for the left to care more about animals?
This video will probably get fewer likes than my posts on taxing billionaires. That difference says it all. Factory farming only survives if we don’t look. It’s time to hold these companies accountable. Every donation is matched, so $1 becomes $2 through Dec 31, 2025. Donate: MoralAmbition.org/food

I don't blame Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson for my wife's long COVID.

Nor do I blame him for her needing to use a wheelchair to get through an airport with chronic fatigue.

However, it's unforgivable that Johnson doesn't understand the role of COVID or his failures in the pandemic.
A constant blazing terror that somewhere, somebody might be getting a free cheese sandwich. Or indeed brief use of a wheelchair.

Bless the reactionary right, and their semantic grievances.

Their rules:

A fake plastic Christmas Tree must be called a Christmas tree.

A vegetarian burger has absolutely no business being called a burger

And don't get them started on soya milk.
Must be SO exhausting to spend your life seeking out imaginary monsters in Tesco shopping aisles... sorry, CHRISTMAS imaginary monsters.

Exactly this.

*Thinking of buying a new car?

Here you go, here's £3,750 of tax payers money to encourage you to do so. No questions asked. Can we help pay for your charget as well?

*Thinking about buying a new bike?
Maybe an electric cago bike as your family vehicle?

Sorry, not interested.
But yeah, enjoy your £3,750 EV grant for weekend drives… in the Surrey Hills. ☺️

It seems that Reach plc have completed their fall from a local newspaper to an clickbait grievance generator.

I'm left wondering if Matt Simpson is an actual journalist, or AI bot tasked with providing the worst possible interpretation of actual events.

For over three years long COVID has had a devastating impact on my wife.

She tried everything, and there's been a slight recovery over the years.

Something remarkable has happened. In her 3 trimester of pregnancy her energy increased.

Now, with a young baby, symptoms have almost entirely gone.

Oxford's car first lobby are so very close to getting it.

You can have trees and 'nice public spaces'

Or

You can have car parking and car first streets.

You can't have both.

It's ironic really.

'Open Roads for Oxford' campaign against traffic filters, and traffic restrictions.

They are using a picture of Broad Street to illustrate an Open Roads.

The reason Broad Street is an Open Road, is entirely due to it's traffic filters and traffic restrictions.

It won't work on the hardcore antis but I couldn't bear the lies going around!

An essential thread that addresses the myths and self deceptions behind common ethical, environmental, or welfare reasons people give to justify their animal protein laced diet.
1. It's fascinating to see, as you can from the responses to the post below, how many daft things people believe, to justify their continued meat eating. So let's examine a few of the common myths in the following thread. 🧵
For years, there's been a massive over-emphasis on food miles, and a massive under-emphasis on food type.
By far and away the best dietary decision you can make, for environmental, humanitarian and public health purposes, is to cut out animal products.

Distribute Oxford Congestion charge permits to everyone in the city.

People holding permits at the end of the year receive compensation for any remaining permits, paid for from charges.

Okay, this has its flaws, but it's a an incentive and compensation to people who are not part of the problem.
