If you haven’t been following what’s going on in Nepal, it is UNBELIEVABLE. I don’t event know where to begin but between the time you had your morning coffee on Monday and lunch on Friday they just had a total Gen Z-led revolution resulting in the first female PM. Like seriously.

Today's recurring theme with clients, openly queer + poly couples therapist edition: the time to open up a previously monogamous relationship is not when you both feel ready to see other people. It's when you both feel ready to see each other seeing other people.

Today's recurring theme w/clients was time boundaries. Your time is maybe the most precious thing you have, and everyone is trying to steal it--employers, advertisers, social media execs, people who want you to care about their pet issue and only their pet issue. But you don't have to let them!

Yes! It's particularly ridiculous because some shows (SpyxFamily, for instance) not only don't have CC, but you can't even turn on the English subtitles if the audio is set to English!
Crunchyroll is not meeting industry standards for closed captioning, a huge barrier for many fans with partial or no hearing. Very good reporting from @animefeminist

Punishment is deeply engrained in our culture, but it is essentially useless: it does not effectively alter behavior and it does not solve any problems. This remains true whether you are punishing yourself, a loved one, a stranger, or an enemy. (Note: stopping harm & punishment are different things)

"Anime" is an illusory category created by the coincidence that American animation hit its worst point just as Japanese animation had a major surge in quality, right around 1980. But the truth is, there's no good reason to consider US and Japanese animation separate art forms or fandoms.

What fundamentally pisses me off so much about the whole AI thing is that as soon as it appeared we just assumed that it would take the worst possible path, that instantly the assumption was that the higher ups would use it for the worst possible purposes and we were right.

As 100 years ago when "blasphemy" like hell and damn became more acceptable while scatology like "shit" and "fuck" became unacceptable, are those in turn becoming acceptable while slurs become less? Fucking hope so.
