Last night’s article in the Washington Post about D.C. police responding to a 911 call by illegally letting DOGE onto private property is unlike any news story I have ever read. Every single person should read this article and think about where our society is going.

W T F is he talking about. The job isn't just to 'win Senate seats.' Even the dumbest fifth grader knows you have more responsibilities than that. DO YOUR FUCKING JOB.
Schumer on CBS on calls for him to go:

"Here’s what I say — I’m the best leader for the Senate. I am the best at winning Senate seats."

@letterboxd.social I have a question.

When I filter my watchlist by movies that are available streaming on my favorite services, I am seeing films that... are not available streaming on my favorite services. Examples: Never Say Goodbye (1946) and The Last Shot (2004). Why is this happening?

Your reminder that bad actors who espouse fascism will eventually come for you. Even if you look exactly like them and behave exactly like them, you're not immune. Greed is eternal.

People have deluded themselves by thinking that because a wannabe strongman goes after the marginalized...

THIS:

“A country that just barely beats a fascist will remain on the brink of fascism, while a country that resoundingly defeats a fascist might stave off another stare-down with the abyss for years or decades.”

Another note about voting and the right to do so. There are forces gathering right now to deprive people of the right to vote. Sure, you might say, those are Other people. Not me.

Think again. You can always lose this right if the people in charge are sufficiently craven, cynical, and mendacious.

Do you enjoy having a say in your nation's elections, however small that say may seem? Then don't vote for a fascist.

Fascists do not like people having a say in things, particularly if their say is diametrically opposed to their own.

Under federal election law, paying people to register to vote, including via entry to a lottery, is illegal.

Under Pennsylvania law, any unregulated lottery is illegal.

Under federal law, a PAC coordinating and campaigning with a candidate is illegal.

I'm in the camp that says laws should matter.
