Interesting thought.
To defend Greenland and itself from Trump, the EU and its leaders must stop its deregulation packages.

EU omnibus packages serve US and not European interests.

It’s a self defeating conduct - I wrote today in the @financialtimes.com

1956 has called.
💥Viktor Orbán’s foreign minister Péter Szijjártó says Hungary is BLOCKING a joint EU statement on Greenland.

After years acting as a Trojan horse for Russia and China, Budapest now does the same for Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Orbán ally Andrej Babiš’s Czech government also refuses to back Denmark...

The only U.S. heavy icebreaker turns 50. That's an interesting landmark given recent U.S. criticism of other countries for not taking Arctic security seriously.

»As members of NATO, we are committed to strengthening Arctic security as a shared transatlantic interest. The pre-coordinated Danish exercise „Arctic Endurance“ conducted with Allies, responds to this necessity. It poses no threat to anyone.

Anyone knowing the Turkish position on Greenland, being a NATO member, EU candidate and always on it's own trajectory?

If there would only be a truly European approach to the EU, one could be tempted to find it a good one.

With 27 kingdoms and some leaders behaving like emperors amongst kings, the EU remains weak in itself

I would have expected the events of the past years to become a booster for a better union.

The financial industry is a major road block for climate change mitigation. Our research shows the beneficiaries of sticking with fossil capital: the super rich.

Great to see our chart republished by the Balanced Economy Project!

Very interesting new @balancedeconomy.bsky.social report setting out the links between concentration of ownership in the financial sector and climate damage.

Here's one killer graph: over half of fossil fuel profits to the top 1% in the US.

Okay, that 'coordinated' thing has caught my attention.

Maybe we should all accept that the US will incorporate a few more states soon -- and this happening quickly could be in our own interest.

Think about Canada being 5 states, Greenland, Iceland i1 respectively thats maybe the most effective way of changing electoral college majorities.

Just sayin.

Don't share many takes on Machado now.

No clue whether Machado was a good choice for the Nobel prize, honestly. But it seems she would exchange a lot for a better future for her country.

In deal maker logics, the medal could be a very low price for what she wants and maybe even cares about.
