This is DEFCON 1 priority, y'all. Call your senators, reps, call your friends and tell them to call their senators and reps about this. Call your grandma and tell her to call her senators and reps about this.

What we have here will be *gone* if these bills pass.

Rep. Erin Houchin (R-IN) has launched the House version of KOSA with bipartisan support. We all know that it won't protect kids, but it will suppress Free Speech and invade our privacy. Call your rep & tell them to OPPOSE KOSA. #SaveSpeech #StopKOSA

Hey guys. Remember, this bill will block ALL VPN traffic or outright BAN VPNs, push age verification on websites, and has passed both committees.

Call your Wisconsin reps.

We must keep calling and make our voices heard. Check below it for Rep resources.

Did some homework last night and found a map tool to show the expanse of age verification laws as of sunday.

Its not encouraging, but we MUST keep calling reps to fight against it.

This wont be permanent. But its gonna hurt.

On December 2nd, The House Energy and Commerce committee is about to have a hearing on 19 bills that could potentially censor the internet. KOSA is one of them. We can't let these bills pass. So call your members of congress and tell them to oppose them. (Including KOSA) #StopKOSA #SaveSpeech

it a reminder that privacy is not the only things that is put at risk, the lgbtq community is also at major risk if these bills passed, so if you live in a blue states, or a rep that care (i used that loosely for some) about lgbtq, contact them and tell them to oppose KOSA
#SaveSpeech #StopKOSA
KOSA will obliterate trans people's ability to have spaces and even communicate online. It MUST be stopped.
Tell your lawmakers to oppose the Kids Online Safety Act- there are better ways to protect kids online without throwing other vulnerable people under the bus.

So i was able to leave a message with the committee. Sadly its Republican so I had to modify my script, but I think if we call enough to air our grievances on the Dec 2 hearing, we MIGHT get them to reconsider it.

House KOSA's audit policy is the one aspect im a little shaky on and havent found any more authoritative writing on, but felt should still be mentioned

We can still win this, kosa is EXTREMELY unpopular, and it's lost several times before. But we can't take the chance that it'll fail again, we really do just have to keep telling them fuck no.

That's the truth.

KOSA is all about censorship. It has nothing to do with protecting kids.

I will call and write to my House Member in this swing district... but I have serious doubts about him.

@georgewhitesides.bsky.social - Don't fall for it.
This is not a vote, but a hearing to drum up support for these bills. CALL YOUR REPS ENDLESSLY TO TELL THEM TO OPPOSE ALL OF THESE BILLS. THIS EFFECTS THE ENTIRE WORLD'S INTERNET. MOST INTERNET TRAFFIC RUNS THROUGH THE US. IF ANY OF THESE PASS, EVERYTHING YOU SEE NOW WILL BE *GONE*.

Call your reps. I'm a cybersecurity engineer in training, and I am saying with full certainty that these bills do not make anyone safer. They're not only used to censor speech, they're also wildly ineffective. Remember when everyone was getting around facial ID checks with Norman Reedus's face? 1/

The internet should NOT be parenting kids. Tell parents they need to stop being lazy about setting up safety!
