everyone doing the "post this so your followers tell you what character you seem like" thing is incredibly brave. obvi there's the risk that nobody responds and you feel invisible but past that there's a chance that one of them has sussed out some genuinely embarrassing aspect of your personality

My mum has been making needle felted mice for a few years and enjoys challenging herself with new themes and ideas. She's just set up her first exhibition at the stately home she volunteers at, with a family of period mice. Incredible.

not be going "oh isn't it ironic that they misread the article about an ineffective reading education technique" but like. I do not get how so many literal journalists read that article (and have done since 2019) and somehow step away thinking that whole-word techniques are the dominant

Solved the famous "I can't operate on this boy, he's my son" riddle? That's right: The surgeon immediately adopts every patient who enters the hospital, thereby avoiding ever having to operate on anyone. ONCE YOU REALIZE THE ANSWER IT'S OBVIOUS, ISN'T IT?

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
