And investing in East West coast to coast grid connections lets Canadian provinces share renewable electricity generation and demand.

Great job! Good science.
Thanks for sharing your experience so others can see how possible it is to shift from polluting power to cleaner power for our homes.

For many homes making one gas appliance an electric appliance is the affordable path forward.

Is it like the free samples they offer at the grocery store maybe they’re offering those cars for the convenience of people who are walking 🤣

Research finds that Canada’s emissions have remained largely stable or even increased in some sectors, making it one of the highest per-capita emitters globally.

While oil and gas companies state their strategy is working towards net zero by funding companies that look like they’re contributing to the fight against climate change, they are in fact developing innovative ways to sell more oil and gas.

Keep this in mind when people claim cars mean business — closing Central #Madrid to cars over holidays resulted in a 9.5% boost in retail spending on its main shopping street: STUDY.

There was also a 71% drop in air pollution.

Welcoming such questions.

How do we use such tools responsibly is an important question thanks.

We can’t afford purity tests in Climate Action.

By the same argument bluesky servers cause pollution and strain the grid. The question is how much and cost vs benefit.

We welcome people in diesel trucks to attend climate fairs.

TIL: according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), we continue to subsidize the production and burning of coal, oil and gas to the extent of $5.9 trillion [per year], or 6.8 per cent of global GDP.

The end results’ quality may leave people with that impression.

Small low cost experiments with media.

Some of the coal comes north from the US.

Other coal comes from BC and Alberta.

BC and west shore facilitate the eventual pollution from this coal.

If we said no to coal, we’d improve human health and planetary health.

At its core, most of our air pollution is generated by burning oil, gas and coal. There are many other sources of that pollution, such as dust from construction sites, unpaved roads and wildfires; however, these play a minor role.

Taking a moment to say thank you to the brave people who have changed jobs or said no to contracts so their talents don’t support the polluting oil and gas industry.

Use your talents for good!

Thank you brave ones!

Jimmy Pattison doesn’t burn coal himself—but his Westshore Terminals in BC moved 27.7M tonnes in 2023. That’s ~6 coal trains/day, enabling ~55M tonnes of CO₂/year.

Biggest polluter in Canada?

(Coal is the most polluting fuel)

With negative prices shouldn’t Albertans be facing lower electricity prices? No, they pay double what BC pays.

Gas prices are volatile. They spike and drop and are betting the control of the provinces.

I’ve observed that privatization requires some new layers of expenses that insourcing does not.

-profit layer
-performance management layer
-contract negotiation layer
-requirements and procedures documentation.

We kid ourselves if we think these are small or already built in.
fvca.bsky.social
Ah I understand what you are saying.
Thank you.

I guess if you view Canada as foreign, we can make the assumption that you are not Canadian?

Remember to a Canadian the United States is full of foreigners.
100% of them minus any Canadian tourists 😊
