Democracy matters for fighting climate change.

- Freedom of speech is essential for criticizing policy and actions taken.
- Holding elected officials accountable by vote (and other interactions)
- The idea that everyone must participate and we need each other. (that is huge)

And the planet cannot sustain billionaires which threatens the rest of us. (Disclaimer: not a billionaire)
Billionaires shouldn't exist. If you need more than $100M will buy you, you have a mental problem that society doesn't need to accommodate.

Please ensure your reporters are not automatically viewing environmental responsibility, and the economy has opposites that must be balanced. In many cases that is a playbook from the oil and gas industry who resist regulation

Dear press, I requested a distinction

Don’t call them “deadly protests” if the government is killing protesters.
Only call them deadly protests if the protesters are killing people.

The former would imply that the protests are causing death. Rather than tyrants and evil leaders.

Interesting

Does clearing trees for solar panels release more CO2 than the solar panels would prevent?
No Clearing trees to build solar farms does not negate their benefits, because one acre of solar panels prevents more CO2 than an acre of forest absorbs.

From environment Canada.

High Arctic shatters winter temperature records

You wouldn't expect some of the most northern settled communities in Canada to be warmer than cities in the south like Regina or even our nation's capital, but that is our weather reality for the beginning of 2026.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.

Canada ranked #10 in the world for #climatechange causing pollution. (images show the countries polluting more than 1% of global pollution.)

This pollution is optional.
We have the tech.
Our economy and our health can both improve with less pollution.

Saying “the climate has always been changing” is misleading because it distorts the issue

You can say:
“It’s true the climate has changed before, but what’s happening now is unprecedented in speed and cause. Human activity is driving this change, and we have the power and responsibility to act.” 🧵

Impressive non-lying leadership from Ukraine.

Determination, Resilience in the face of prolonged injustice.

Ukraine impresses the heck out of me.
Anyone who says otherwise hasn't been watching daily updates for the last several years. ;-)

Canada, BC, and Abbotsford need to pay for climate adaptation including flood retreat, dike improvements, drainage improvements, making BCHWY1 (TC1) more resilient to flooding.

Hey EV friends.

Anyone looking for a new level 2 charger?
Want to be paid 3 cents per KWH to charge your car?

I know I Know it sounds crazy.

in BC charging in the off hours, that could get VERY affordable. 7.63 ¢/kWh overnight minus $0.03 per KWH.

We could be charging for $0.04/Kwh

This won't magically get better when we zero our emissions, it'll just stop getting worse. At least it will if we don't trip tipping points first, so we should hurry with the emissions zeroing. www.fox13seattle.com/news/residen...
