Our own citizens cannot stand our system of care, let alone the fact that many of us struggle to even address basic procedures and needs because the system is so broken and unaffordable.

Wild how the administration keeps talking about "illegals" coming into the country and getting medical care and stealing money from tax payers by doing so.

I don't give a fuck if my tax dollars go to keeping people alive, but to assume our health care system is desirable by the world? Laughable.

Considering the amount I was fat shamed, called the f-slur because I was "too emotionally sensitive" or questioning my identity, or even told to learn how to "take a joke"?

So, in some small manner, I'm transitioning to spite comments and people like that. To show that we aren't "complaining" or that it is us that need to shut up or go.

Change happens whether you like it or not. Your choice is to either learn from it, or be written about poorly in history books.

It's hard to trust allies when so many don't stand beside us. They want to stand to the side or from the comfort of their heteronormative lives. They'll host podcasts, write essays, gush about characters that identity with us, but the moment we need them to stand with us?

The amount of people who will wear a mask or put on an "ally face" is way too common. This same person would do the "oh, I'm soooo sorry, honey" to then turn around and complain because "I just want to talk about me and my Twitter jokes!"

I'll admit there is a small bit of pettiness in my transitioning.

When I was still streaming regularly on GA1C, my then co-host would complain about how the trans members of their echo-chamber Discord wouldn't just "shut up or get lost" about Trans rights and affirming care.

That sticks with me.
